Contacts Overview
Every campaign draws its recipients from one store of contacts held at organisation level. A contact is created once and reused by any campaign that targets it, either as part of All Contacts or through a segment, so the same person does not have to be supplied again for each send.
Contacts are managed by Campaign Manager, Admin and Org Admin. A Campaigner can point a campaign at a segment, and can trigger a segment refresh from the campaign or run, but cannot open these pages or add, edit or delete contacts. See Roles and Permissions.
The Contacts Page
Select Contacts in the sub navigation to open the list. All Contacts is pinned to the top, and every segment in the organisation is listed beneath it.
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| Type | Whether the row is All Contacts or a segment. |
| Name | The name of the segment. |
| Count | How many contacts the row holds. For a segment this is the membership at its last refresh. |
| Created | When the segment was created. |
Search filters the list by name, and a long list is paginated.
Two actions sit above the list:
- Create Segment opens the segment builder. See Building a Segment.
- Add Contacts offers two routes into the store, Add Manually for one contact at a time and Upload File for a bulk import.
All Contacts
Opening the All Contacts row lists every contact in the organisation as a paginated table of Identifier, First Name, Last Name, Added and Updated. The Identifier column shows the highest priority identifier the contact holds, as described in Identifiers.
Search finds a contact by identifier, Export CSV downloads the list, and Add Contacts repeats the two options above. Selecting a row opens that contact record.
